Food science explores food ingredients and products through multiple disciplines. Professionals in this field contribute across the entire food supply chain, from agricultural production to consumer consumption. Applying scientific principles, they ensure efficient and secure methods for producing, processing, storing, assessing, and delivering food. This four-year honors degree program, available through the SE501 - Bachelor of Science (Hons) Common Entry Route, combines scientific study with business, entrepreneurship, and culinary techniques to meet industry demands. Students gain expertise in food production, quality control, and safety protocols alongside business strategy, marketing, and product development - essential competencies for professional advancement. The curriculum incorporates practical industry challenges including market analysis, business proposal creation, food innovation, production processes, and product presentation.
You should be at least 17 years of age in January of the year of entry.
You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
