The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Care (formerly called the BA in Applied Social Studies in Social Care) is a three-year level 7 program. This curriculum helps students focus on particular interests while equipping them for professional roles in Social Care Work. Its primary goal is to cultivate thoughtful, ethically conscious professionals capable of forming meaningful connections while working alongside marginalized, disadvantaged, or special-needs individuals and communities. Students explore interconnected fields including Sociology, Social Policy, Psychology, Law, Applied Social Care, Personal and Professional Development, and Supervised Professional Practice. Admission is restricted to first-year entry, with no consideration given to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), advanced placement, or module exemption requests for any program year. Those wishing to enroll in the BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care must first complete the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Care at Waterford Campus or an equivalent qualification.
