This four-year, Level 8 program is structured to equip students for professional roles in Social Care Work while allowing specialization in particular areas of interest. The program's primary objective is to cultivate skilled, ethically conscious practitioners who can critically reflect on their work and establish professional relationships with marginalized individuals and groups facing disadvantages or special needs. The curriculum encompasses key disciplines including Applied Social Studies, Professional Practice, Sociology, Social Policy, Psychology, Law, and Personal/Professional Development. Admission is restricted to Year 1, with no consideration given to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), advanced entry, or module exemption requests for any program year. Prospective students may only enroll in the BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care after completing the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Care at Waterford Campus or an equivalent qualification.
You should be at least 17 years of age in January of the year of entry.
You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
