The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physical Education Studies with Business equips students to develop, organize, and implement curricula that combine hands-on skills and academic understanding, tailored for teaching Physical Education and Business to diverse learners in educational settings. Upon completion, graduates will acquire the expertise, abilities, and qualifications needed to actively participate in curriculum design, execution, and assessment at both school and national levels.
This BSc (Hons) program aligns with the Teaching Council's subject registration criteria for Physical Education and Business. Graduates will meet the necessary standards to qualify for Professional Master of Education (PME) programs in Physical Education, Business, or a combined approach. They will also be eligible to pursue teaching qualifications through postgraduate pathways in the UK.
The curriculum combines theoretical and practical learning. Students begin with two foundational years covering various aspects of health, sports, wellbeing, and business, establishing a robust base for teaching these subjects at secondary level. The final two years concentrate intensively on Physical Education and Business curricula, preparing students for advanced PME studies. The program concludes with an extended teaching placement in both primary and secondary schools, alongside a capstone research project.
