The Master of Science (MSc) in Bioprocess Engineering is offered through a collaboration between DCU's School of Biotechnology, Trinity College Dublin's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT). This DCU-accredited program provides an engaging, hands-on curriculum that enhances students' theoretical and practical understanding of bioprocess design and management. Participants gain comprehensive insights into bioprocessing, including the composition, functions, and analytical techniques related to biopharmaceuticals, along with production methodologies and process monitoring technologies. Qualification Requirements

This programme is targeted at industry based students or anyone who wishes to move from small molecule manufacturing to bio-pharma. For example, in cases where a student has more than three years industry experience in a related field.

  • The programme will be open to graduates and those currently working in industry with an honours degree (minimum second class honours grade 2) in Science or Engineering.
  • Applicants who do not hold an honours degree but who have significant relevant industrial experience will also be considered, and should contact the Programme Chair to discuss this prior to applying.

  • IELTS ACADEMIC - Overall score 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in all components.
  • TOEFL - Overall score 580.
  • CBTOEFL - Overall score 237.
  • TOEFL iBT - Overall score 92.
  • English Test for Academic and Professional Purposes (ETAPP) - C1
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CAP) - Postgraduate: Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - Postgraduate: Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) - 63 with a minimum of 59 in all components.
  • Duolingo - Duolingo will be accepted with a minimum score of 120 and a score of at least 110 in each subscore.
