The Master of Science in Biotherapeutics program trains students in applying molecular innovations to identify protein-based and other biomolecular drug candidates, guiding them through the process of transforming these discoveries into viable biotherapeutic treatments. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of biotherapeutic development, from initial pre-clinical modeling and target selection to antibody engineering, biochemical analysis, biophysical assessment, and bioprocessing challenges.
The curriculum thoroughly examines systems biology in biotechnological applications and methods for interpreting proteomics discovery data, complemented by instruction in mathematical modeling, bioinformatics, and data integration techniques. Students will also explore regulatory considerations along with innovation and commercialization approaches. A hands-on, six-month laboratory research project focused on drug discovery will provide substantial insight into how potential treatments are identified and progressed through development stages.
