The MA in International Security and Conflict equips students with analytical skills to navigate our complex global landscape. Our diverse cohort includes international participants, some with direct experience in conflict zones or security fields, while others come from unrelated academic backgrounds but share a passion for the subject. Faculty members actively research topics including political economy, human rights, peacebuilding, post-conflict recovery, transitional justice, and regional specialization. Class discussions thrive with vibrant exchanges - this collaborative environment fosters mutual learning. Foundational first-semester courses establish key concepts in security, conflict, and peace studies. Second semester offers extensive electives covering development, trade, human rights, political violence, environmental security, gender studies, and regional focuses like Asian or African affairs. The program culminates in a 15,000-word dissertation, with structured guidance and personalized supervision available throughout the academic journey.
