Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the M.Phil. in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation embodies the School and Trinity's dedication to cross-border education. This program provides an interdisciplinary perspective on addressing political and social reconciliation following violent conflicts.

Students gain both academic knowledge about conflict resolution and hands-on experience through workshops and placements. The program facilitates engagement with grassroots organizations and community leaders working on conflict transformation and social justice initiatives.

As Northern Ireland transitions from its troubled past, Belfast has become a dynamic city experiencing remarkable post-conflict changes. This urban environment serves as an ideal setting for the M.Phil., enabling students to observe firsthand a society navigating the complexities of conflict transformation.

As Trinity's sole Belfast-based program, this course offers a distinctive educational experience. Studying in a divided society presents unique learning opportunities, though differs from the traditional campus experience at larger universities or Trinity's Dublin location. The department features its own specialized library and compact team, while nearby Queen's University Belfast provides access to study spaces, sports facilities, and student clubs. While most Trinity support services are available remotely, some in-person services require travel to Dublin.
