Sexuality Studies has a core objective to analyze how sexuality intersects with factors like ability, age, class, ethnicity, gender, health, nationality, race, and religion. The field encompasses the study of sexual desires, behaviors, identities, communities, and social movements. As an interdisciplinary domain, it examines sexuality through artistic, cultural, economic, geographic, historical, literary, political, and psychological lenses, while also exploring how sexuality influences arts, economies, geographies, histories, literatures, politics, and psychological studies.
Courses in Sexuality Studies explore diverse identities and cultures, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, cisgender, heterosexual, and heteronormative experiences. They also examine historical and contemporary models of sexual expression and non-sexual alternatives across different time periods.
