The Literature and Rhetoric program combines the complementary strengths of UWaterloo's English Department. This degree offers a balanced curriculum that develops expertise in both fields while allowing flexibility to pursue personal academic interests. Through literary studies, you'll gain a foundation in British, Canadian, American, and Postcolonial literary traditions and theories. The rhetoric component examines rhetorical history and theory, professional writing principles, information design, and digital media. The honors RMPC program provides multiple pathways tailored to your aspirations: Choose between regular or co-op study formats. Opt for a standalone honors degree, joint honors, or combine it with an Honours Arts and Business degree. You can also enhance your studies by adding a specialization in creative writing, digital media studies, global literatures, or technical writing.
