Master the craft of visual narrative and develop comic books, graphic novels, webcomics, and comic strips across all genres, along with storyboards for gaming, film, video, and animation. You'll explore creative writing and character development while learning key publishing principles. This curriculum focuses on visual storytelling—a dynamic blend of images and text. The versatile skills you gain will enable you to produce comic books, graphic novels, webcomics, and comic strips in any style, plus storyboards for gaming, film, video, and animation.

Although many academic institutions acknowledge visual storytelling's rising influence, their programs typically emphasize content over technique. As the only program of its kind in Canada's public post-secondary system, we specifically equip creators with the knowledge and skills to excel as visual storytellers.

After completing this certificate program, you could work as an independent comic book or graphic novel artist, collaborating with publishers or engaging audiences online and at conventions. You'll graduate with a professional portfolio to showcase your talents to publishers, clients, and employers, opening doors to careers in gaming, animation, illustration, graphic facilitation, or advertising.
