Literature enthralls us, compelling examination of our connections to society, culture, and personal identity. Through various narrative forms - from classic texts to digital media - we express our humanity via creative language and imaginative constructs.
Our department provides an extensive selection of both conventional and cutting-edge courses examining literary works through multiple lenses. We'll stimulate your creativity while rigorously engaging your critical faculties.
The English Department enthusiastically introduces a Comprehensive Curriculum Enhancement, featuring updates across all courses and programs. This revitalized curriculum will:
introduce learners to broader global English literatures and cultural histories (including Indigenous, Caribbean, African, and South Asian traditions) beyond our current British-centric requirements;
equip students with essential analytical, rhetorical, and compositional skills for careers in communications, education, publishing, public discourse, and information sciences;
continue exceptional preparation for graduate studies as literature programs expand to encompass digital humanities, media studies, genre fiction, and cultural analysis;
support academic achievement through progressive skill-building in writing, textual interpretation, and critical reasoning throughout the degree program.
