The Department of French collaborates with the Faculty of Education to provide this specialized program, which features a curriculum designed for current and aspiring French instructors. The program combines pedagogical training for teaching French as a second language with advanced coursework to strengthen linguistic skills, literary understanding, and linguistic knowledge.

Qualification Requirements
The completion of a recognized bachelor’s degree with a minimum graduation 2.0 GPA from British Columbia institutions and 2.4 from institutions outside the province. University course work undertaken subsequent to the bachelor’s degree will also be considered for admissibility to this program.
A bachelor’s degree from SFU or its equivalent from a recognized institution, a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
IELTS - Overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section. TOEFL IBT - 93, with a minimum score of 20 in each category. For the paper-based TOEFL test, the University normally requires a score of 580, with TWE 5. Pearson Academic (PTE) - Overall 65 minimum 60 in all of their sections.
