The Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Policy prepares future and current educators to enhance their skills in policy development, leadership strategies, transformative change, and addressing social diversity across K-12 schools and other youth-focused learning environments. Blending theoretical knowledge with practical application, this program equips students to address today's intricate educational policy, leadership, and reform issues. Key program features include:

This MEd cultivates critically-minded education leaders, policy experts, and public sector professionals capable of driving meaningful improvements in schools, districts, government agencies, NGOs, and international institutions worldwide. Offered primarily through in-person instruction, the program includes limited online course options (less than one-third of total coursework). Those seeking fully online part-time studies may explore the School Leadership in Diverse Contexts specialization. Students can enroll either full-time or part-time, and the department encourages applications from individuals with varied yet pertinent professional backgrounds.
An appropriate bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline with a grade equivalent to a University of Toronto mid-B or better in the final year.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Required score: 7.0 (Academic) with at least 6.5 for each component.
Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT) Including Writing and Speaking Sections: Overall score: 93; Writing: 22; Speaking: 22
Academic English Level 60: Required score: B
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Online: Required score: 70 minimum total with at least 60 in each part.
The Certificate of Proficiency in English (COPE): Required score: 76 minimum total with at least 22 in each component and 32 in writing
Cambridge Assessment English: Required score: minimum 185 overall with at least 176 in each component.
