The Master of Education Program prepares professional educators for doctoral studies or advanced career opportunities in the field.
Unlike undergraduate programs that focus on foundational knowledge, Master's degree programs challenge students to achieve mastery while developing the ability to contribute new insights to their disciplines. The School of Education's MEd degree fulfills this mission through comprehensive coursework and guided research.
The Multidisciplinary Leadership specialization equips graduates for leadership positions across educational and community settings. Participants will enhance their collaborative abilities, communication skills, and leadership techniques to foster productive and creative organizational cultures. The program combines scholarly rigor with practical application, ensuring leaders operate from an informed perspective. Through reflective practice, students conduct field research examining leadership's social, economic, political, and cultural dimensions in modern contexts.
This 31-credit specialization comprises core courses, focus area studies, electives, and a choice of culminating options: a comprehensive exam (3 credits), project (6 credits), or thesis (9 credits). Students select a concentration within Multidisciplinary Leadership, completing five core courses, specialization requirements, and electives to meet the credit minimum. Elective quantities adjust based on the chosen final assessment path.
