The Master of Arts program caters to students with varied academic interests seeking one year of graduate-level political science education. MA candidates can specialize in one of three areas: Political Economy of International Development, Political Science, or Political Theory. Those drawn to philosophical and normative studies may opt for Political Theory. This intensive one-year Political Science MA program offers instruction from distinguished scholars within a top-tier research university environment. Approximately thirty students from Canada and internationally enroll annually, focusing on either Political Theory or Political Science. Both specialization tracks qualify participants for the Academic Internship Program, which enables students to explore real-world politics through internships or research projects with NGOs or government agencies. The university facilitates these placements.
Cumulative grade average equivalent to a University of Toronto B+ or better in an appropriate bachelor's degree program. Preference will be given to applicants with outstanding academic records and a strong background in political science.
