The Department of Economics provides graduate programs culminating in Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. These programs aim to enhance students' analytical skills in economics through intensive training in theoretical concepts, econometric methods, and diverse economic fields. Program alumni have secured prestigious academic appointments, significant government roles, and rewarding positions in private corporations. With its extensive and varied faculty, the department enables students to focus on nearly any economics specialization.
This accelerated program enables completion of Juris Doctor requirements and all PhD coursework (excluding dissertation) within four years, compared to the standard five-year timeline for separate programs. Dissertation work continues in the fifth year and subsequent years.
Prospective students must secure admission to both the JD program and Economics PhD program independently. Applications should specify interest in the Combined Program. All standard admission criteria for each individual program must be met.
