The Department of Economics provides graduate programs culminating in Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. These programs aim to enhance students' analytical skills in economics through intensive training in theoretical concepts, econometric methods, and diverse economic fields. Program alumni have secured prestigious academic appointments, significant government roles, and rewarding positions in private corporations. With its extensive and varied faculty, the department enables students to focus on nearly any economics specialization.
This accelerated program enables completion of Juris Doctor requirements and all PhD coursework (excluding dissertation) within four years, compared to the standard five-year timeline for separate programs. Dissertation work continues in the fifth year and subsequent years.
Prospective students must secure admission to both the JD program and Economics PhD program independently. Applications should specify interest in the Combined Program. All standard admission criteria for each individual program must be met.

Qualification Requirements

Students interested in the combined program must apply to and obtain separate admission to both the JD and PhD according to the normal application and admission requirements for each program
Applicants must have completed, or must be in the final year of an appropriate four-year bachelor's degree program or its equivalent with at least a mid-B (75%) standing in the final year of that program.
Applicants must have completed, or be in the process of completing a master's degree in economics or a related field with an average of at least B+, or have completed, or be in the process of completing a bachelor's degree in economics or a related field with an average of at least A- in the final two years of study.

IELTS - Minimum required score 7.0 (Academic) with at least 6.5 for each component.
TOEFL IBT - Overall Score - 93, Writing and Speaking- 22, TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall Score 580 TWE 5
