The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theological Studies stands out for its rigorous methodological approach within an interdisciplinary structure, enhanced by TST's distinctive ecumenical environment. This joint PhD degree is awarded by both the University of Toronto and the student's affiliated college, with six of TST's seven member institutions participating in the program (excluding St. Augustine's Seminary, which focuses solely on foundational degrees). Designed as a full-time course of study, the program typically spans four years, with a maximum completion time of six years.
