The Doctor of Ministry program equips ministry professionals seeking to strengthen their leadership abilities and theological creativity. Students engage in scholarly collaboration with peers while maintaining active involvement in their current ministry settings, fostering impactful service in an evolving world.
This program is tailored for individuals holding a Master of Divinity or comparable graduate degree, accepting both lay and ordained candidates from diverse ministerial backgrounds including parish leadership, religious instruction, preaching, worship leadership, pastoral counseling, healthcare chaplaincy, and other forms of spiritual leadership. The DMin is a joint degree awarded by the University of Toronto and the student's affiliated college. Among TST's seven member institutions, six participate in this joint program (excluding St. Augustine's Seminary, which focuses solely on foundational degree programs). Typically spanning four years, the DMin program allows participants to maintain full-time ministry work while advancing through their studies. Each spring requires a two-to-three week residency at TST's University of Toronto, St. George campus location.
