Graduate students work on research projects guided by faculty advisors across four specialized fields. Our research initiatives and lab facilities benefit from the support of four technologists and personnel from the Engineering Computer Centre. The department collaborates with various campus units such as Engineering Physics and Biomedical Engineering. With a team of 19 faculty members and six technical/administrative staff, the department includes three distinguished chair holders: Safa Kasap (Centennial Enhancement Chair in Photonics), Brian Berscheid (Barbhold Chair in Information Technology), and Xiaodong Liang (Canada Research Chair in Technology Solutions for Energy Security in Remote, Northern, and Indigenous Communities).
