The Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) program focuses on research and thesis work, mandating students to finish 4 courses (12 credits), a seminar, and a thesis. Most M.A.Sc. candidates are encouraged to publish their research in peer-reviewed conferences. Typically, students complete this program within 18 to 24 months. Earning an M.A.Sc. degree often serves as a prerequisite for entering a Ph.D. program. This department plays a vital role in advancing Nova Scotia's and Canada's technological and intellectual development by driving research and facilitating technology transfer. An applicant must meet the admission requirements below:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from an academic institution recognized by Dalhousie in which the language of instruction is English and in a country where English is the principal language or
Four years of full-time post-secondary instruction at a university where English is the primary language of instruction and in a country where English is the principal language or
Possession of a baccalaureate degree or its academic equivalent from an academic institution recognized by Dalhousie with a satisfactory score on an approved English language examination such as TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language).
English language requirement:
The application deadline for September admission is Apr 01 January admission is August 31 and May admission is December 31.
