Hydrology examines both physical and social science aspects to address water security challenges.
You'll explore human impacts on surface environments, including water resource management, the transport of pollutants, and waste disposal effects on natural and developed ecosystems. The program teaches geomatics tools (remote sensing, GIS, mapping) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) methodologies.
Graduates qualify for Professional Geoscientists-in-Training status with APEGS. Career opportunities span environmental consultancies, watershed agencies, mining sectors (oil/gas, aggregates), municipal water services, and resource management agencies like Saskatchewan's Environment Ministry.
