Hydrology examines both physical and social science aspects to address challenges concerning water security.
The program explores human impacts on near-surface environments, covering topics like water resource management, the transport and effects of pollutants, and waste treatment's influence on natural and developed ecosystems. Students gain skills in geomatics technologies (remote sensing, GIS, mapping) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) methodologies.
Upon completion, graduates qualify for Professional Geoscientists-in-Training registration with APEGS. Career opportunities exist in environmental consulting, watershed management, mining sectors (including petroleum and aggregates), municipal water services, and natural resource agencies like Saskatchewan's Environment Ministry.
