Geology examines Earth's physical composition and natural processes. Environmental Geoscience focuses on how geological and geographic factors interact with our surroundings and influence planetary formation.
The University of Regina's geology and environmental geoscience programs address contemporary global challenges, as modern societies demand greater earth-derived minerals and energy. Simultaneously, ecological concerns like climate change, resource shortages, and contamination increasingly limit sustainable growth and impact our habitats.
These fields hold particular significance for Saskatchewan, where petroleum, natural gas, and mineral deposits significantly contribute to the region's economy.
Students must have completed High School (Secondary School) or partial post-secondary.
