The Master of Nursing program at the University of New Brunswick aims to develop nurses for higher-level professional positions by combining academic coursework with active collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
This MN curriculum provides students with comprehensive understanding of nursing leadership, research, theory, and clinical application. Learners receive guidance to create personalized study plans that foster progress in nursing knowledge and practice within their chosen specialization.
Graduates of the MN Thesis/Report track have progressed to leadership positions across healthcare systems, government agencies, and NGOs, pursued academic and research careers, and enrolled in PhD programs. Nurse Practitioner alumni practice in diverse primary care settings throughout New Brunswick and Canada, with opportunities for doctoral studies. Substantial financial support options exist through teaching/research assistantships, scholarships, and grants. Thesis researchers have successfully obtained funding from organizations including the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation, Canadian Nurses Foundation, SSHRC, and CIHR.
Duration: Thesis/Report (2 years full-time, 4 years part-time), Nurse Practitioner (2 years full-time)
