The Master of Nursing (MN) program at the University of New Brunswick aims to develop nurses for higher-level professional positions by combining academic coursework with active collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
This MN curriculum provides students with comprehensive understanding of nursing leadership, research methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and clinical application. Learners receive guidance to create personalized study plans that foster the progression of nursing expertise in their chosen specialization.
Graduates from the MN Thesis/Report track have progressed to leadership positions across healthcare systems, governmental organizations, and NGOs, pursued academic and research careers, or continued into PhD programs. Nurse Practitioner alumni practice in diverse primary care settings throughout New Brunswick and nationwide, with opportunities for doctoral studies. Substantial financial support options exist through teaching/research assistantships, scholarships, and grants. Thesis students have particularly excelled in obtaining external funding from organizations including NBHRF, Canadian Nurses Foundation, SSHRC, and CIHR.
