The Mathematics program at UNB's Saint John campus offers both major and minor options within Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. Students can also pursue a combined Mathematics and Economics major through the Bachelor of Science program or obtain a Certificate in Mathematics for Education. UNB Saint John's intimate campus environment ensures small class sizes alongside diverse course offerings. Advanced undergraduates gain valuable experience through opportunities like grading assignments as teaching assistants, tutoring first-year students at the Flora Beckett Math and Science Help Centre, or collaborating with professors on summer research projects.
Students must complete high school for admission to the University of New Brunswick. They must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice. Course requirements:
Senior English Literature
Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus
1 other academic maths
Senior Chemistry
1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences)
