With Pure Mathematics courses being some of the most intimate and tightly-knit in the Mathematics Faculty, you'll build close relationships with both peers and professors. (Professors who conduct pioneering research beyond their teaching duties.) The program also offers paid professional experience through co-op placements. Pure Mathematics equips you with analytical abilities valuable across industries, businesses, government sectors, or advanced academic pursuits. Enhance your credentials through research. By applying for an Undergraduate Student Research Award, you could dedicate four months to paid pure mathematics research alongside a faculty member. Connect with fellow math enthusiasts. The Pure Math Club hosts both scholarly and social gatherings, from faculty-student mixers and mathematical competitions to game evenings and shared meals. This honors program delivers a comprehensive mathematical education focused on theoretical concepts and abstract thinking. The curriculum allows ample flexibility for students to explore interests both within and beyond mathematics, and while not mandatory, many choose to pair Honours Pure Mathematics with a secondary specialization. Numerous program alumni continue their studies in graduate programs after graduation.
