Enrolled in the Master of Arts in Classics program, students will achieve expertise in classical studies along with proficiency in ancient Greek and Latin languages.
Classics scholars enjoy the well-established advantages of a liberal arts education. These encompass skills such as problem recognition, assessment, and resolution, the capacity to evaluate information with critical and creative thinking, attention to crucial details, synthesizing knowledge from diverse sources, articulating compelling arguments both in writing and speech, and managing workloads independently under deadlines. Our program offers the unique benefit of concentrating on two extraordinarily innovative and influential civilizations—Greece and Rome—whose impact on Western culture remains unparalleled. Choosing a Major or Minor in Classics doesn't limit graduates to a single career path. Rather, it provides adaptable, transferable skills suitable for diverse professions, whether entered immediately or pursued through additional education. Recent alumni have found success in law, healthcare, museums and archives, publishing, teaching, journalism and media, tourism, finance, real estate, military service, hospitality, human resources, graphic design, among other fields. The M.A. degree can be completed through either a coursework-and-thesis track or a coursework-and-exam option.
Program Length - 2 years.
