The Department of Classics and Ancient History provides an MA program in classical studies. Collaborate with faculty conducting innovative research while pursuing your degree through intimate class settings and a curriculum customized to your academic goals.
Students can choose between two specialized tracks:

Program focused on interpreting Greek and Latin literature
Program emphasizing classical art and archaeological studies
Both pathways offer significant flexibility to concentrate on your preferred subjects and materials.

Typically completed within two years, the MA program allows students to submit either a thesis after completing at least 18 graduate-level credits or a research report after finishing 24 graduate-level credits.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants should hold an honours, majors or equivalent undergraduate degree in Latin, Greek or Classics with a minimum 3.0 (B) average. Program requires a reading knowledge of one of the classical languages. Applicants should have at least 18 credits or equivalent in either Greek or Latin, but there are accommodations for students without the complete language requirements. Applicants are required to submit an application, including three references, a one-page statement of interest and a writing sample (e.g., undergraduate paper). IELTS - Minimum score of band 7.0 TOEFL Internet Based - (Minimum score of 94) including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score of 25) TOEFL Paper Based (minimum score of 550), including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score 4.0)
