Our program empowers students through their growing passions and inquiries, mentored by faculty involved in varied research while energized through interactions with experts, industry collaborators, local communities, and global figures in architecture and design. The two-year MArch professional degree combines coursework with a design thesis, covering subjects like architectural theory, cutting-edge technologies, professional standards, and legal frameworks. Throughout the program, students undertake multiple studio courses and must present a final design thesis to complete their degree.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the Master of Architecture program, you must have a minimum of:

A four or five year Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, Architectural Science, Environmental Design (Architecture Option) or equivalent

with minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent in the last two full years of study.

For those applying with a University of Manitoba Bachelor of Environmental Design degree, a minimum of C+ in courses EVAR 4002, EVAR 4004, EVAR 4008 and EVAR 4010 is required.

Architecture Master Preparation Option (ED AMP)

Applicants who have a recognized undergraduate degree that does not meet the admission requirements of the Master of Architecture program can consider applying for the one or two year Architecture Master Preparation Option program. Upon successful completion of the ED AMP program, students wishing to continue into the M.Arch Program must officially apply for graduate admission.

IAEP (Intensive Academic English Program) - Pass Level 5/AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance) with a minimum of 65% overall

IELTS (Academic module) (International English Language Testing System) - 6.5 overall

Internet-based TOEFL - Overall score of 86 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking - 20)

Pearson Test of English Academic - 61 overall

Cambridge Assessment of English at the C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency level - Minimum score of 180
