The MFA Dramatic Arts program provides graduate students with a chance to investigate cutting-edge methods in theater production and performance, encompassing both classical theater practices and cross-disciplinary creative endeavors. Faculty in the Department bring specialized knowledge in design, acting, technical theater, and theatrical history. The Department stages an ambitious lineup of mainstage shows, student-directed studio performances, and various other theatrical events, all supported by top-tier theater spaces, workshops, and studios. With strong connections to thriving fine arts and performing arts scenes nationwide, the program enables students to engage with the region's rich cultural landscape.
Expanding on our legacy of outstanding undergraduate training in design, performance, technical production, and theater history/theory, the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Dramatic Arts invites students to become part of a lively collective of artists, designers, and researchers. With intentionally small class sizes, the program gives talented students remarkable chances to excel in their chosen focus, whether in conventional theater fields or groundbreaking interdisciplinary work. The MFA in Dramatic Arts is an intensive two-year, full-time studio program combining practical and theoretical study. The University of Lethbridge ensures all graduate students receive substantial financial assistance.
