UFV's 21-credit Diaspora Studies certificate explores the movement and relocation of communities across international boundaries, shaped by historical, political, and social factors. Combining perspectives from English, Anthropology, History, India-Canada Studies, Political Science, and Sociology, this program equips you to become a reflective, knowledgeable, and active participant in our interconnected global society. The program begins with a foundational "Culture and Theory of Diaspora" course examining diasporic experiences in contemporary, postcolonial, and worldwide settings. Students can fulfill the certificate requirements through either academic coursework or a practical internship/service learning pathway.
