Acquire training and establish a grounding in developmental psychology theories and research methods.
The developmental psychology program provides curriculum options for both MA and PhD degrees.
Starting from their initial semester, students are motivated to pursue progressively independent research projects. With diverse course selections across the department and university, plus a favorable faculty-to-student ratio, graduate education can be customized to each student's goals and preferences. On average, the developmental psychology graduate program enrolls about 12 students.

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants, usually a minimum overall average in the B plus range (76% at UBC).

IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required with a minimum score of 6.0 in each component.
TOEFL IBT - 90 for the internet-based exam with minimum component scores of 22 (reading, listening) and 21 (writing, speaking).
