The Department of Psychology consists of around 30 faculty members and 60 graduate students. Faculty members maintain dynamic research initiatives across various psychological disciplines, often requiring participation from community volunteers. PhD Program – This four-year, full-time doctoral program includes coursework, comprehensive examinations, and thesis work, with specialization options in behavioral neuroscience, cognitive studies, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, or social psychology.
The Cognition research team demonstrates particular expertise in human memory systems, metamemory processes, and attention mechanisms.
Dr. Fawcett leads the NeuroFog Lab, employing diverse methodologies to investigate the neurocognitive foundations of human memory. While his primary research examines the processes behind forgetting undesirable memories, his work also encompasses eyewitness memory studies and seeks to connect cognitive and clinical research domains.
