The University of Windsor's Applied Social Psychology program aims to train students as academics, investigators, and professionals across diverse Social Psychology domains, with a particular focus on Community Health and Industrial Organizational Psychology.
Through a blend of academic instruction, investigative work, and practical internship opportunities, the program equips students with essential skills for teaching, professional practice, and research in multiple environments such as academic institutions, educational and community groups, governmental bodies, social service providers, healthcare facilities, corporate entities, HR departments, and management consulting agencies.
The department offers robust programs in both Applied Social Psychology and Clinical Psychology. These programs typically span six to seven years, incorporating an MA degree that students are expected to finish within the initial two-year period. Delayed MA completion beyond this timeframe could affect program standing. All graduate programs enroll students exclusively for Fall term admission (September intake) and operate on a full-time basis with no part-time alternatives.
Qualified first-year students may obtain financial assistance through entrance scholarships (requiring an 80% academic average) and Graduate Assistant positions. Additionally, prospective students can apply for Tri-Council Scholarships and/or Ontario Graduate Scholarships before beginning their studies. Further support opportunities may be available through faculty members for specific research or applied initiatives.
