The Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is a clinical psychology doctoral program consisting of 18 core academic courses, 3 colloquium seminars, at least 750 practicum hours spread across four training courses, a dissertation spanning four courses, and a year-long full-time predoctoral internship counted as one course. This curriculum equips students for professional practice as clinical psychologists.
With a strong emphasis on critical analysis and the blending of theoretical knowledge, research, and practical application across diverse populations, the PsyD program trains graduates to serve as clinical psychologists addressing the needs of individuals, couples, families, and wider communities through thoughtful application of psychology's scientific and humanistic dimensions.
The program teaches students to create, implement, and oversee comprehensive mental health services encompassing evaluation, diagnosis when applicable, therapeutic interventions, consultation, supervision, and research. Students also develop expertise in promoting overall wellbeing, fostering community resilience, and preventing psychological difficulties through clinical practice.
