The Quantitative Methods in Psychology Program stands as Ontario's sole graduate psychology program specializing in teaching students about researching, creating, and implementing sophisticated quantitative techniques for examining psychological and behavioral science data. This program prepares graduates for research-oriented careers across academic institutions, government agencies, educational settings, and private sector companies. Alongside mastering quantitative approaches, students can pursue investigations in other key psychology domains.
Professors actively participate in research projects supported by grants, covering diverse methodological and subject areas. Ongoing studies focus on statistical visualization for multivariate data, resilient ANOVA techniques, equivalence testing approaches, psychological measurement methodologies, longitudinal data analysis strategies, and investigations into latent variable models. These quantitative studies frequently apply to practical concerns in clinical psychology, clinical-developmental studies, developmental science, social-personality psychology, and other psychological disciplines. The program also hosts a recurring Quantitative Methods Forum—highlighting innovative advancements and unique uses of quantitative techniques in psychological studies and allied research areas.
