Our graduate program employs an apprenticeship approach to cultivate highly skilled, autonomous researchers poised to advance the field of psychology. Through hands-on, mentor-guided research opportunities with distinguished faculty, students gain early and continuous research experience. Our alumni hold prominent positions across academia, government agencies, and private sector organizations.

Developmental Science examines human growth and variation across social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive domains throughout the lifespan. Faculty researchers employ cutting-edge quantitative methods to study developmental processes in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Current DS research concentrates on four key areas:
Cognitive Development and Aging - Investigating executive function, healthy aging, and dementia-related neuropsychology.
Social Cognition - Examining the formation of age-related stereotypes and their societal effects.
Developmental Neuroscience - Exploring brain-gene-environment-cognition interactions.
Social-Emotional Development - Studying mental health, self-regulation, and interpersonal relationships across development.
