The Honors in Applied Mathematics program equips students to utilize mathematical concepts for addressing real-world challenges across physical, life, and social sciences, as well as engineering and finance. Alongside pure mathematics coursework, this program provides specialized classes that emphasize employing theoretical mathematics to tackle practical issues – the essence of applied mathematics. The Bachelor of Science with Honors is a specialized degree path created for students seeking comprehensive expertise in a particular field and who are interested in scientific investigation. Each program includes a mandatory research thesis component, and participants must uphold more rigorous academic requirements compared to a standard BSc Major degree. While students can choose to complement their studies with a minor from Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences faculties, this selection will limit their elective course options. The Honors program does not permit pursuing a double major.
