The Bachelor of Education in Trades Technology (BETT) is a two-part program designed to qualify graduates for teaching certification through BC's Ministry of Education, Teacher Certification Branch (TCB). After finishing Phase I, you'll be eligible to apply for a Trades Certificate, allowing you to teach Technology Education in BC secondary schools. This initial phase is an intensive 14-month, on-campus program at our Kamloops location, beginning each July. The voluntary Phase II builds upon your Phase I coursework, incorporating apprenticeship training credits, undergraduate Mathematics requirements, and additional studies to complete the 150 credits needed for the full Bachelor's degree. This advanced phase leads to a Professional Certificate, enabling you to teach both Technology Education and Academic subjects in BC schools. Designed for working professionals, Phase II offers flexible completion options through either in-person or online courses at your own pace.
