Our two-year Bachelor of Education program combines teaching, research, and service in a cutting-edge academic setting. You'll be taught by faculty members who are distinguished professionals in education. During their second year, B.Ed. candidates can gain international teaching experience through overseas placements. Past students have completed practicums in countries like Norway, Australia, Kenya, Iceland, and Scotland.
The BEd program spans two years after obtaining an undergraduate degree and offers two specialization tracks:
Elementary (primary through grade 6) – Future elementary educators develop skills to teach diverse subjects, reflecting Nova Scotia's public elementary school curriculum requirements.
Secondary (grades 7 to 12) – Secondary education candidates train to instruct in at least two subjects commonly offered in Nova Scotia's public high schools (including English, French, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education/Health Education, Gaelic, Spanish, Business, Family Studies, Art, Music, and Drama).
Both tracks offer specialized options in Physical Education and French instruction.
