Cardiovascular technologists are healthcare specialists who conduct diagnostic procedures ordered by physicians to assess patients' cardiac and vascular systems. Students gain expertise in operating various monitoring devices for electrocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, tilt table assessments, pacemaker checks, and blood pressure evaluations.
The Cardiovascular Technology program requires students to wear a standardized uniform (scrubs) consisting of a Ceil Blue short-sleeved top with matching pants during lab sessions and clinical rotations. Additional affordable supplies will be explained in greater depth as the program progresses.
Program Highlights
Successful graduates qualify to take the CSCT (Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists) national certification examination.
Hands-on learning occurs through simulation labs and clinical placements.
Recognized by the Canadian Medical Association.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can pursue roles in hospitals and clinics, including Cardiac Stress Testing and ECG Departments, operating rooms, emergency departments, community health organizations, long-term care facilities, medical equipment sales, educational institutions, patient education centers, rehabilitation clinics, and research. Program graduates must fulfill the licensing requirements of their intended practice location.
