Embark on your journey to becoming a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) through the Medical Radiation Sciences (MRS) program - a gateway to a fulfilling healthcare career. MRTs are vital, empathetic members of interdisciplinary medical teams. The University of Toronto's Department of Radiation Oncology and The Michener Institute of Education at UHN collaboratively provide a unique Bachelor of Science Degree and Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Sciences, the first undergraduate program of its kind. Operating with cutting-edge technology, MRTs are licensed healthcare practitioners who utilize advanced radiation equipment for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic treatments. Serving as key patient advocates, MRTs prioritize teamwork and patient-focused care. Graduates can explore diverse career paths including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), research, leadership roles, corporate positions, academic instruction, medical device sales, health policy analysis, or advanced studies at the graduate level.
