History involves understanding the broader narrative of how and why transformations occur across different eras. Scholars examine all aspects of human activity, ranging from governance and intimate relationships to spiritual beliefs, occupations, conflicts, societal shifts, scientific advancements, and more. Engaging with History equips you with skills to interpret an evolving global landscape.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences provides both major and minor concentrations in History, along with specialized certificates in Hellenic Studies and Labour Studies.
Our department brings together professors, administrative personnel, adjunct faculty, postgraduate researchers, and undergraduate learners committed to exploring and interpreting historical change. Our geographical scope spans from British Columbia to Africa, China, and other regions, while our temporal focus covers millennia of human experience up to contemporary times.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS - Academic): Overall 6.5 with no part less than 6.0
Cambridge English Qualifications: Overall score 176 with no part less than 169

Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL): Overall score of 70, with no part less than 60
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 65, and a minimum score of 60 in the Communicative Skills, including: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing
Duolingo English Test (DET): Overall score of 125
