The groundbreaking Bachelor of Science – Cosmetic Science program, Canada's first of its kind, prepares students with practical skills for success in the beauty and personal care sector.
This unique three-year degree blends scientific principles with artistic creativity, offering comprehensive training in biology and chemistry while specializing in cosmetic development, including color products.
Students will apply their creativity through hands-on work with ingredients and color concepts, mastering cosmetic creation from skincare to makeup while gaining expertise in regulations and quality control. Core studies expand into organic chemistry, chemical analysis, and the biology of skin, hair, and nails.
The program emphasizes sustainable production methods and examines how environmental responsibility intersects with branding, digital marketing, and product packaging.
Coursework also addresses diversity through developing inclusive products suitable for various skin types, complexions, genders, and age groups.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent or a mature applicant; including six courses from the University (U) or University/College (M) or College (C) stream with a minimum overall average of 65%.
Required courses with minimum final grade of 65% in each:
English: Grade 12 (C or U), or equivalent course
Mathematics: Grade 12 (C or U), or Grade 11 (M or U), or equivalent course
Biology: Grade 12 (C or U), or Grade 11 (C or U), or equivalent course
Chemistry: Grade 12 (C or U), or Grade 11 (C or U), or equivalent course
