The Global Development Studies Department offers an interdisciplinary program that draws on various academic fields to examine the unequal distribution of wealth, social privileges, and quality of life across different regions. This field of study focuses on research aimed at driving social progress and systemic changes to create a more equitable global society.
Students in Global Development engage in research, evaluate diverse theoretical perspectives, and participate in practical initiatives that enhance global living standards. Those considering this field should consult with either the Global Development Studies Undergraduate Coordinator or an Arts Faculty Undergraduate Advisor.
The department strongly advises development studies students to develop proficiency in a second language related to their academic focus. Particular attention is drawn to the language certification programs available through the Modern Languages Department.

Students are required to have completed the equivalent of grade 12 level university preparatory English and 4 other university preparatory courses. The overall average should be equivalent to at least 70 percent with no individual grade below 60 percent.
Students may be admitted if they have completed the IB Diploma with a total score of 24 points and a minimum grade of 3 in required courses.
IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.5 with no individual score below 60.

Cambridge B2 First C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency minimum score of 176 with no individual score below 169.

Pearson PTE score of 58 or better.
