The School of Urban and Regional Planning within Queen's Department of Geography and Planning prioritizes outstanding instruction, featuring strong faculty-student interaction and curriculum that leverages our dynamic faculty's extensive planning expertise. This professional training initiative incorporates substantial research elements while being fully accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners as a crucial step toward achieving Registered Professional Planner status. Additionally, we provide an accelerated dual-degree option for geography, health studies, and civil engineering students seeking a secondary professional qualification in urban planning. This pathway enables Queen's students to complete their Master of Planning degree more efficiently than pursuing it independently.
Candidates with either four-year bachelor or honours degrees may be admitted with full graduate student status. Generally, we prefer candidates with an upper second class standing in their undergraduate degree. Averaging a 3.0, 75% or ‘B+’ or better in your final 2 years.
