BIOS is an internationally acclaimed research facility funded by government, corporate, and private sources. Situated in Bermuda near the Sargasso Sea—one of Earth's most biodiverse open-ocean habitats—it offers access to some of the planet's northernmost coral reefs, attracting global researchers. Their resources feature the RV Atlantic Explorer, a UNOLS-class research vessel operated by BIOS that serves as a fully-equipped floating laboratory for scientists, faculty, and students conducting marine research.
