This program offers a distinctive integration of conventional chemical and civil engineering principles with cutting-edge environmental studies centered on water. Its objective is to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed for careers in the water sector, enabling them to safeguard public health and ecosystems. The curriculum covers hydrology, hydraulics, water quality assessment, water/wastewater treatment processes, system operations and maintenance, as well as specialized biology and chemistry courses focused on water. In their second year, students can specialize in either Environmental Monitoring (EM) or Water and Wastewater Technology (WWT). The EM track includes courses in groundwater hydrology, limnology, and freshwater biology, while the WWT track focuses on municipal/industrial wastewater treatment, distribution/collection systems, and industrial automation. All participants must complete a culminating technology project that applies the program's theoretical and hands-on learning.
